Job Description: Registered Manager
Purpose of the Role
This role is designed to ensure the effective running of the Home to meet required regulatory standards. The roles and responsibilities outlined below will be reviewed monthly and are not exhaustive, allowing for flexibility to address evolving needs. This document ensures you are aware of the job role specifics and expectations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Audits and Reporting
Complete monthly audits for all Health & Safety (H&S) and Human Resources (HR) requirements within the home within the desired timeframe. Record results effectively to ensure compliance. Complete the monthly Registered Manager (RM) audit and the six-monthly Regulation 45 report
Supervisions and Team Meetings
Conduct monthly supervisions for all staff within the desired timeframe. Record effectively to ensure compliance.
Ensure weekly team meetings are conducted and recorded to meet regulatory requirements.
Staffing and Rotas
Prepare and distribute home rotas in advance, ensuring timely communication to the staff team.
Liaise with agencies when required to cover staffing gaps.
Verify agency workers’ documentation before their first shift.
Conduct a one-day induction for all agency staff upon their first visit to the home.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all regulatory paperwork is completed to a high standard and relevant reports are recorded and submitted appropriately.
Ensure all safer recruitment processes are adhered to in conjunction with HR.
Work with HR to ensure all staff training is completed on time and satisfactorily.
Complete all new starter inductions.
Financial Management
Oversee home finances, ensuring proper distribution and accurate record-keeping in line with regulatory standards.
Health and Safety
Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met and documented.
Maintain a safe environment for young people and staff, adhering to all regulatory standards.
Safeguarding and Cultural Awareness
Safeguard young people and staff at all times. Report and record all safeguarding concerns, ensuring cultural beliefs are respected and followed.
Act as a Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) for the home and the company.
External Liaison
Attend and document all external professional meetings as required.
Foster positive relationships with external agencies and ensure effective communication.
Data Management and GDPR Compliance
Ensure all staff records are printed, stored, and managed in accordance with GDPR regulations.
Leadership and Team Support
Lead by example, supporting the wider team with role modelling and training.
Empower young people to achieve positive outcomes while respecting their cultural beliefs.
Weekend Planning and Risk Assessments
Lead the planning and risk assessment for weekend activities. Share plans with the wider team and the ‘On Call’ staff member.
Participate in the on-call system for the home.
Policy Adherence and Professional Conduct
Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Behave in line with the company’s code of conduct.
