The Band 8A Matron role will support the Head of Nursing in the Planned Care Division to deliver safe, kind & effective services by translating the organisation’s vision and values into meaningful actions for teams to respond to our patients’ needs. This will be supported by implementation of the nursing & midwifery, educational & research strategies and taking actions to prevent hospital acquired harms.
The post holder will support the development & implementation of models of care that are patient-centered, safe, effective, economically sustainable and responsive to the needs of our patients. You will work closely with frontline staff across a range of services, setting standards & monitoring quality metrics to ensure a sustained and positive contribution to improvements in patient care.
Main duties of the job
The matron is responsible for maintaining an up-to-date overview of actual and predicted bed capacity and demand within their given areas to maximise inpatient flow.
The Matron has a key role working in partnership with all relevant key stakeholders to promote a safe and quality culture across all wards & departments, providing professional and clinical leadership within an identified area and leading specific projects related to safe, kind and effective care.
