Job Advert Role Description
Join our dynamic team at Oak Vale Gardens’ 18-bed specialist neuro-rehabilitation service in Liverpool. We are an integral part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation network, dedicated to providing exceptional level 3 inpatient rehabilitation support to adults with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions, including PDOC cases.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in assessing, intervening, and providing consultation on cases involving complex communication, swallowing difficulties, and tracheostomy care.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of communication and swallowing disorders in individuals with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing difficulties.
3. Provide consultation to the interdisciplinary team, contributing your expertise to enhance overall patient care.
4. Collaborate closely with specialist Nurses, Rehabilitation staff, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Rehabilitation Consultants, Activities Coordinator, and Neuropsychology professionals.
Requirements:
1. Recognized Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
2. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
3. Specialized training and experience in assessing and intervening in cases of complex communication, swallowing difficulties, and tracheostomy care.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
