In this role you will play a key part in the delivery of a highly effective growing service About the Job We are recruiting for a skilled and enthusiastic support worker to provide support to families living in Homeless Accommodation in the London Borough of Havering. We are looking for applicants that can demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with both Adults and Children and have a good understanding of safeguarding. The Hostels Service adopt a Trauma informed Approach when working with our residents and would welcome applications from candidates with an understanding of this model. Ideally applicants would have some knowledge of Housing and Homelessness matters including rent collection and the management of Anti-Social Behaviours Applicants should be able to provide a high quality service to Hostel and HMO residents who are housed in temporary accommodation with, at times, complex needs. You will support people to sustain their quality of life, develop support plans and engage various support agencies. You will provide advice for safeguarding, health and well-being on a wide range of issues including housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills and the promotion of personal independence. Act as the principle point of contact for casework within Hostels and HMO's and residents to co-ordinate solutions for drug and alcohol, domestic violence, and mental health issues. Ensure the environment and conditions that residents experience is high quality and well maintained. Lead on safeguarding and vulnerabilities to ensure smooth transition into suitable accommodation. Where relevant take action in line with license agreements, manage nuisance and anti-social behaviour.
