Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Band 7 Physiotherapist in Vascular Surgery to join our highly respected Surgical Therapy Team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. This permanent, part-time position is based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, with responsibility for physiotherapy provision to Vascular and Amputee patients across the Trust. The role is 18.75 hours per week, worked over 3 days, alongside another part-time Band 7 to ensure service coverage across 5 days per week. You will also work closely with the Vascular Occupational Therapy team to deliver seemless integrated care for vascular patients. Your duties will include providing specialist physiotherapy on a 23-bed vascular ward, daily outpatient physiotherapy sessions for amputees, and support for our weekly prosthetic satellite clinic. You should have experience supervising and teaching senior and junior staff, therapy support workers, and students from various universities, as well as providing training, mentorship, and support to staff at all levels. You will be required to participate in the respiratory on-call and weekend working rotas. High-level communication skills are essential to ensure effective collaboration with Therapists and the MDT across the county, as well as with the regional prosthetic centre in Birmingham, to provide specialist advice and support for Vascular/Amputee patients in both acute and community settings. Main duties of the job You will work closely alongside both the Clinical Lead for Critical Care, Surgery and Paediatrics and the existing experienced part time band 7 in Vascular surgery, to ensure delivery of a high quality, evidence based service to Vascular patients on the 4 bedded Vascular enhanced care unit and 19 bedded Vascular Surgery ward. You will be responsible for following up the appropriate amputee patients as out patients before and after prosthetic delivery and providing Physiotherapy input to the weekly satellite prosthetic clinic from the west Midlands Rehabilitation Centre. The post will involve a combination of both clinical and leadership responsibilities and as such we are looking for an experienced, dynamic and progressive physiotherapist with proven clinical skills across a broad base of specialties plus advanced skills in Respiratory care and some experience in the Physiotherapy management of Vascular patients, amputees and Prosthetic Rehabilitation. The successful applicant will be expected to have undertaken significant broad based post registration education and to demonstrate some Vascular knowledge and a keen interest in developing their knowledge and skills within this role to an advanced level.
