Our client is seeking an experienced Production Operative who holds a valid RTITB or AITT FLT Licence to join their team on a full-time temporary contract up to three months in Sleaford. This is a superb opportunity for a reliable, hard-working, enthusiastic, proactive individual who is an all-round team player. They specialize in nutrition across multiple sectors by developing, manufacturing, and supplying high-performance products. An hourly rate of £13.21.
To assist the Production Supervisor with achieving the necessary production requirements:
1. Production process, including packaging and labelling.
2. Warehousing of finished goods.
3. Ensuring all orders are made to a high quality, on time in full.
Principal Responsibilities
1. The operational performance of the process plants, packing and palletizing, and warehousing of all factory produced, stored, and warehoused raw material and finished product in compliance with factory procedures and management instructions.
2. Cleaning the various process and collection plant at specified regular intervals and as required, ensuring optimum performance using safe working practices and in accordance with written procedures and work instructions.
3. Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene at all times, encouraging all staff to do likewise (e.g., overalls/PPE to be changed if soiled by any particular task).
4. Fill and pack all potted, bagged products to correct weights while maintaining high quality and completing all paperwork associated with the task.
5. Pack all products to the highest quality and be vigilant for mistakes and poor quality product, ensuring all paperwork is completed and packaged products are checked by the Quality Controller.
6. Take direct responsibility for the quality of the packaged products packed by you.
7. Complete all documentation associated with given tasks and be directly responsible for the quality of your own work.
8. Notify a Supervisor or Manager if sub-standard product is found.
9. Operate a ‘clean as you go’ policy and actively maintain a high level of hygiene within the factory and surrounding areas.
10. Work in an organized manner to maximize efficiency and maintain a clean safe working area.
11. Ensure all HACCP ‘good manufacturing processes’ are checked and followed.
12. Use all plant and machinery as instructed in work instructions within its safe operating limits, and maintain and clean after use.
13. Ensure all breakdowns are reported to a Supervisor or Manager and where possible repaired.
14. Ensure any excess stock is returned and put away in its designated place and covered or sealed where necessary.
15. Contribute to the achievement and maintenance of quality standards to meet the requirements of company policy.
16. Perform other duties as may be required from time to time, within or outside normal working hours to meet the exigencies of the company.
17. Ensure compliance with the company Health & Safety procedures, rules, and safe working practices, ensuring both your own safety and that of any person that may come into contact with you during work.
The shift patterns are as follows, rotating on a weekly basis:
1. 06:00 – 14:00
2. 14:00 - 22:00
3. 22:00 - 06:00
The successful candidate would ideally possess previous experience within a warehouse or dispatch environment, along with holding a minimum of English and Maths at GCSE Level. Lastly, you must hold a licence and be an experienced Forklift Driver.
