Job summary The post holder will be responsible for reviewing the maternity service digital requirements seeking to expand the digital profile with an overall aim of integrating and supporting a full digital system. They will be responsible in leading on the continuous development of the maternity IT system, reviewing, assessing, and enhancing the information systems. They will coordinate the integration of systems into clinical care which will require various elements for the implementation, these will include IT helpdesk and network support, clinical requirements, quality, safety, and effective collaboration with divisional and clinical informatic teams. The post holder will provide digital and clinical leadership with the ability to educate, support, inspire, motivate, and empower others in line with the national vision demonstrated through better births. They will be supported to obtain and sustain a deep understanding of the expectations within digital technology and the transformation of maternity systems to drive changes and support clinical teams. They will have the ability to establish good team relationships and collaboration within the wider ELHT trust, third sector colleagues and local maternity systems. Main duties of the job As an IT ambassador for the Midwifery profession, the post holder will ensure clinical practice is supported by digital technology, to meet the required professional standards. The post holder will be accountable for their own professional actions and be a lead specialist for perinatal digital IT acting within clearly defined policies/procedures and codes of conduct including the NMC code and Trust policy. They will ensure the maternity IT system functionality is adhered to, to support practitioners professional standards e.g. the NMC Code https://www.nmc.org.uk/globalassets/sitedocuments/nmc-publications/nmc Work towards the ambitions, pillars and themes reflected within the national Better Births, Ockenden and three delivery plan reports, to ensure current evaluations within maternity IT systems are prevalent aligned with all recommendations. Practice in accordance with the NMC Code. Maintain competencies relating to digital leadership by attending regular updates such as local user group initiatives and the national Digital Midwives Expert Reference Group. Provide professional leadership including motivation of staff regarding the use of digital technology. Ensure the relevant data is captured and maintained as a collaborative approach with the wider Multidisciplinary team to meet both National and local standards.
