Following exceptional growth in student numbers, we are looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Business and Partnerships. The key duties of the post holders will be to contribute to the teaching and delivery of professional, undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes, including the academic and personal support of students.
An ability to teach and supervise in one of the following areas would also be required: digital marketing, supply chain management, data and analytics, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The post holder will also be responsible for providing academic oversight and programme management of University-validated courses being delivered at Partner Colleges and participate in any administrative, review, quality assurance and reporting processes, including the attendance of meetings and adherence to key deadlines, as appropriate to the context.
The post holder willbe expected to work weekends.

Responsible to: Deputy Head of School
Job Purpose:
* Provide academic and programme management oversight of Buckinghamshire New University courses, being delivered in conjunction with partner colleges.
* In the above capacity as ‘Partnership Tutor’, liaise and work closely with University and Partner College staff to ensure the effective management and delivery of the relevant taught programmes.
* As ‘Senior Lecturer’, teach and support students by adopting a learner-centred approach and being committed to contributing towards delivery of a first-class student experience, for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and with appropriate use of technology to support different delivery formats.
* Contribute towards curriculum development, and, research and enterprise activities, whilst undertaking relevant scholarly activity and taking responsibility for own CPD.
* Be a team-player and contribute to the wider work of the School/University.
The relative proportions of Partnership Tutor and Lecturer activities will be agreed with the Line Manager and subject to change, depending upon future needs and requirements. However, it is expected that at least three days per week will be strongly focused on Partnership work, this likely requiring working visits to one or more different locations. You will be expected to work five days out of seven, which may include weekend working.
Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:
Education:
* To undertake research-informed teaching in the subject discipline managing all aspects of curriculum delivery and the associated student experience at partner organisations to the highest standards in accordance with the University’s requirements, OfS conditions of registration and the TEF.
* To undertake associated activities in connection with the BNU courses taught by partner staff including: module and course leadership; curriculum development; personal tutoring student recruitment; assessment, review and evaluation.
* Work in the capacity of a ‘Partnership Tutor’, to provide academic oversight and programme management of BNU courses being delivered by a Partner on our premises.
* Work closely with staff at Buckinghamshire New University and Partner College to ensure that all necessary University policies and procedures are properly followed (compliance).
* Support the delivery of rigour, due diligence, standards, quality, and positive experience in all aspects of the student journey; this could include admissions, study skills support, learning and teaching practice, monitoring and support of student engagement, oversight, and support of assessment processes (including marking).
* Participate in any administrative, review, quality assurance and reporting processes, including the attendance of meetings and adherence to key deadlines, as appropriate to the context.
* To achieve good student satisfaction – demonstrating ‘customer focus’ and achieving strong NSS results.
* Demonstrate inclusive practice in curriculum design and delivery. Work to eliminate attainment gaps.
* To contribute to Open Days, school, college and partnership links and the marketing and promotional work of the Department and School.
* To support students in supervising placements, learning in practice, internships and work-related activities.
* To deliver pastoral care to, and project supervision of, students.
* To plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate digital technologies, including the use of IT and multimedia.
* To provide effective feedback, support, and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance.
* To evaluate the effectiveness of your practice; use data and student feedback to identify opportunities to enhance the quality of your teaching and the outcomes for learners. Proactively work with colleagues in the School and across the University to share good practice, seek opportunities to enhance practice, and thereby demonstrably enhance the student experience and outcomes
* To undertake and promote cross disciplinary teaching to contribute to the success of the wider University.
* To engage in professional development activities (e.g. CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to teaching, learning and assessment.
Research and Professional Practice:
* To conduct research and scholarly activity of relevance to the senior lecturing role and/or area of professional practice and align own research with teaching and learning.
* To contribute to the REF and KEF and to internal and external research and enterprise strategies, as applicable.
* To engage with relevant business and professional networks to promote teaching and learning and research in a professional context.
* To engage in professional development activities (e.g. CPD, attendance at conferences) relating to research, enterprise and/or the relevant profession.
