This position is offered at 37.5 hours per week and requests to work flexibly will be considered, taking into account business needs. Please note the salary will be pro-rata for part time hours undertaken.
Main duties of the job
Our chosen candidate will be responsible for, giving full support to the Line Manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This role will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area including group therapy.
The post holder will need to be enthusiastic and committed to service delivery and service improvement. Be well organised and comfortable, a good team member. They will need to be able to cope well under pressure, have sound judgment and decision-making skills, be flexible and assertive, and have the ability to communicate at all levels.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* Being responsible for providing a high standard of physiotherapy delivery to Service personnel including highly specialist interventions in the muscular-skeletal/sports and training injury environment.
* Providing a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high quality professional service.
* Supporting the line manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work, including both individual and group based therapy.
* Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by the Medical Officer (MO) or regional physiotherapy teams. Presentations may be diverse including complex and acute/chronic physical and psychological conditions plus sports injuries. To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
* Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
* Supporting and attending weekly and monthly Special Interest Group and Clinical Governance Meetings where audit, research, service and policy development and presentations are conducted within the multidisciplinary team environment.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to post graduate diploma level or equivalent.
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP).
* State Registered Physiotherapist Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
* Must have relevant experience in the assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders, sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions.
* Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience.
* Completion of relevant musculoskeletal physiotherapy courses.
Salary
£35,392 to £42,618 a year pro rata for part time *Pay Award Pending
