Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for efficient production processes?
We're seeking a Production Planner to join our team in Kingswinford to ensure seamless planning and coordination of our production operations.
This role is crucial to meeting our customer service levels by effectively managing production schedules, coordinating operator builds, and ensuring all materials are ready for planned builds. You will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts, with a special focus on LEAN strategies that add value across the department.
A JOB THAT MATTERS: Your Tasks
1. Maintain optimal stock levels for production materials, reducing excess while maintaining productivity.
2. Coordinate with external suppliers to complete surface finishes. Manage the purchasing of materials such as glass and fabrication items for specific builds.
3. Develop and oversee operator schedules and fabrication activities, including outsourcing when necessary. Communicate with internal customers to agree on installation dates and ensure timely delivery.
4. Monitor and measure KPIs such as utilization, delivery performance, waste, and process improvements to maximize workflow efficiency.
5. Prepare production documents, cutting sheets, and build requirements based on supplied drawings, including calculating glass sizes.
6. Coordinate updates of process maps to reflect any changes.
7. Ensure compliance with company health and safety procedures and relevant legislation.
8. Actively support LEAN activities, including involvement in PDCA initiatives.
EXPERIENCE THAT MATTERS: Your Skills
1. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar planning role, working with external suppliers and internal planning functions.
2. Experience with KPI data capture and analysis is essential.
3. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
4. Ability to understand technical drawings and work with fabrication software.
5. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Exceptional multitasking abilities.
