Job Summary
The IT PMO Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) within the IT department. The individual in this role will report directly to the CIO and will be responsible for managing larger programs, ensuring effective communication, and aligning project initiatives with the overall IT strategy.
We are open to the right person working a hybrid schedule and are targeting candidates based in the Northeast and travelable distance to mid-CT. This person will need to come into the office in Manchester, CT as necessary (day or two a week).
Responsibilities
* The role requires overseeing larger programs, managing multiple projects and work streams, and consolidating them into a comprehensive plan for reporting, monitoring, and communication.
* The IT PMO Director should possess a high level of technical expertise and the ability to quickly assimilate new information related to infrastructure, technical architecture, and application architecture.
* Understanding IT financials, budgeting for capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operational expenditures (OPEX) is crucial for effective resource allocation and financial planning within the IT department.
* The IT PMO Director must collaborate effectively with internal IT teams and business partners to ensure project cadence, execution, and alignment with business objectives.
* Identifying potential project challenges, assessing risks, and proposing remediation action plans are essential responsibilities to ensure successful project outcomes and delivery.
* Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership. The IT PMO Director must be able to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
* 10+ years within IT.
* 3+ years prior PMO experience.
* Extensive experience in IT project management, program management, and PMO leadership roles.
* Strong understanding of infrastructure, technical architecture, and application architecture.
* Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Expected Base Pay Not Including Potential Commissions, Incentive, Bonus, etc. Opportunities:
180-220k base salary + annual bonus target.
