All About the Role
Based at our Barrett Central Distribution, Scunthorpe site, the purpose of this role is to carry out driving & related duties involved with the carriage of goods within a defined geographical area. The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 5:00am – 1:00pm plus overtime.
Specific tasks include:
1. To oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises
2. Driving Class 1.
3. Ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed & returned without delay.
4. To check the load security & weight distribution according to latest safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
5. To ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
6. Ensures vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, & are operated in a safe manner.
7. Adhere to all health and safety standards at all time
8. You may be required to work nights out as and when required

Essential Skills for the role:
15. To hold a valid HGV Class 1 Licence (with no more than 6 points).
16. Own a Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card.
17. Knowledge of working time directive.
18. Previous experience in a warehousing or distribution business.
19. Understanding and experience of EHS requirements.
