An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Professional to work within the Spalding community mental health team.
The team provides comprehensive bio-psychosocial support to those of working age who are experiencing severe mental illness. It forms part of the Spalding & South Lincolnshire Locality mental health provision and is actively engaged in the community mental health transformation agenda. We are also actively working to develop the range of effective and evidence-based social and psychologically informed interventions available within the locality and to embed the principles of the open dialogue approach within our practice. The successful candidate's values and enthusiasm will be in keeping with this transformation.
The post holder will be responsible for the coordination, planning, and implementation of evidence-based interventions in collaboration with a defined group of service users and their social networks.
The post holder will provide professional advice and support to other agencies and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide a high standard of collaborative, trauma-informed, strengths-based intervention, focusing on the goals and aspirations of the individual and their social network.
2. To identify clear recovery-focused goals utilizing Iroc, the HOPE toolkit, and other appropriate measures to guide the team's interventions.
3. To empower individuals and their social networks, utilizing their strengths in order to achieve their recovery.
4. To work collaboratively with partner agencies across the wider health and social care locality provision in order to meet the needs of social networks.
5. To ensure that up-to-date collaborative care plans, risk assessments, and reviews are in place.
6. To provide high-quality learning and development opportunities for both colleagues and students.
7. To contribute to the maintenance of a psychologically safe environment in which the diverse views and experiences of all are valued and utilized.

Job responsibilities

3. To facilitate collaborative interventions with individuals and social networks in order to promote their empowerment, recovery, and well-being.
4. Comply with and carry out safe practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, appropriate Codes of Conduct, the Mental Health Act (1983), and other relevant national and local guidance commenting on policies, procedures, and developments as necessary.
5. To ensure that medicines are managed in a safe manner and that their effects and side effects are monitored and appropriately managed.
6. To ensure that all necessary interventions to ensure the individual's physical health and well-being.
7. To provide both formal and informal training, health promotion, and advice to patients and carers/relatives regarding their mental health needs.
8. To actively participate in the delivery of training opportunities for staff and students, including those from other teams and disciplines.
9. To provide high-quality practice placement education for nursing students acting as a mentor as required.
10. To contribute to the maintenance of a psychologically safe environment in which the voice, skills, and experience of all are valued and nurtured.
Person Specification
Skills & Competences
Essential
* Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health.
* Highly developed clinical reasoning skills.
* Sound knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of Information Governance principles.
* Highly developed communication skills.
* Delegation whilst maintaining overall responsibility for patients' care, where appropriate.
* Demonstrate the ability to lead a clinical team.
* Highly motivated & able to engage with service users & carers to improve outcomes.
* Ability to work independently and collectively.
Experience
Essential
* Relevant experience of working with adults with mental health needs or clear evidence of substantial experience of working with individuals in crisis and skills that are transferable to both community/in-patient.
* Experience of working with people with severe and enduring mental illnesses.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Qualifications
Essential
* RVN or RNLD or RN: 1st Level Registration (NMC) or degree or equivalent.
* Currently Registered Nurse.
* Mentorship Module or equivalent (degree level).
* Evidence of specialized continued professional training (degree level) in clinical practice.
Desirable
* Management training.
