A unique opportunity has arisen for an APT Administrator and Tissue Coordinator to join the Mortuary team at West Herts NHS Teaching Trust.
We welcome applications from Level 3 qualified APTs or individuals holding the previous-style APT qualification.
In addition to performing daily Mortuary duties as an APT, you will be responsible for maintaining precise traceability records for all post-mortem retained tissue and whole organs, ensuring compliance with HTA regulations.
Applicants with extensive experience as a Mortuary Assistant or in a similar support role are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday across both the Watford and Hemel sites, supporting the senior team in the daily management of the Mortuary and Post-Mortem workload. Reporting to the senior site APT and the Mortuary Manager, the role will focus on ensuring compliance with regulations related to retained post-mortem tissue.
Following competency assessment, the candidate will be expected to participate in a 1-in-6 on-call rota.
You will have an excellent understanding of the HTA standards and relevant codes especially related to traceability, families wishes and consent for retention.
