Job Description: The Unified Comms Team Lead is responsible for the planning, design, optimization, implementation, audit, upgrades, migration, and troubleshooting of BW organization’s collaboration and communication (voice/video/IM&P) infrastructure, ensuring it operates effectively within a secure environment. This individual will work to make our company's IT environment more efficient and effective through the management of their team and by ensuring the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the telephones, voicemail, telephony systems, video conferencing, and collaboration technologies. This includes the management and optimization of all Voice over IP (VoIP), Unified Messaging, Instant Messaging & Presence (IM&P), and Voice and Video Conferencing services. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Plan, identify, define, engineer, and monitor the UC arrangements to optimize the company’s UC infrastructure across a global organization, ensuring alignment with broader business and technology requirements. Create and maintain performance standards for data, voice, or video network hardware and systems. Identify and analyze gaps between the existing and future state UC environments, assessing and defining the best approach and conducting gap analysis. Initiate projects to address these gaps. Participate in and lead implementation and integration projects, such as conducting product research and overseeing proof of concept evaluations. Identify, test, and evaluate emerging technologies to ensure new technology choices align with the business strategy, considering scalability, risk management, speed, agility, and costs. Coordinate with global technology and business stakeholders during acquisition integrations and implementations, manage resources, and oversee the secure configuration and installation of telephone devices to ensure seamless delivery. Lead the optimization of the UC infrastructure, ensuring effective communication with global stakeholders and delivering well-documented, governed projects. Work effectively across the global organization, understanding requirements to maintain good relationships. Foster a positive team culture through a proactive approach to openness and knowledge sharing, offering mentorship and training. Create a well-governed environment with strong documentation to support unified working practices. Serve as the primary liaison for the UC team with the Digital Innovation and Infrastructure teams, focusing on improving design and collaboration capabilities. Develop, optimize, and ensure governance of documentation, including the creation and maintenance of high-level and low-level design standards, processes, operating procedures, user guides, manuals, and policies. Manage the lifecycle and day-to-day operations of all UC applications and services. Oversee the tendering process and foster meaningful interactions with vendors to ensure the organization is well-positioned to embrace technological advancements and challenges head-on. This includes budgeting, cost optimization, and reviewing and agreeing on SLAs. Assess the technical landscape, identify and resolve recurrent issues by addressing their root causes, enhancing system efficiency and reliability. Ensure a well-documented contract management process and work proactively to identify areas of service improvement and cost optimization. Maintain effective communication across the organization, ensuring a customer focus at all times. Support the Network Operations and Security Lead in budgeting and planning activities. Oversee the tendering process foster meaningful interactions with vendors to ensure BW is well-positioned to embrace technological advancements and challenges head-on. Including budgeting, cost optimization, reviewing and agreeing SLAs. Assess the technical landscape, identifying and resolving recurrent issues by addressing their root causes, enhancing system efficiency and reliability. Ensure a well-documented contract management process and work proactively to identify areas of service improvement and cost optimization. Effective communication across the BW organization ensuring customer focus at all times. Support the Network Operations and Security Lead in budgeting and planning activities. Technical Skills Good experience as a Voice/US Teams lead with a focus on SIP, MGCP, SCCP, H323, Voice Gateways/CUBEs, and SBCs. Experience with WebRTC voice and video protocols. In-depth knowledge of SIP Signaling, media flows, and troubleshooting methodologies. Hands-on experience with voice gateways, CUBE configuration, and management. Strong understanding of Quality of Service (QoS). Expert ability to manage the maintenance, migration, and optimization of the UC infrastructure including Webex Calling, Webex Contact Centre, Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solutions/CUCM/CUC, Expressways, and UCCX. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and to solve complex problems. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and to solve complex problems. Required Education and Experience: Senior level professional with in-depth knowledge of UC infrastructure. Minimum 2-year degree in an IT field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of five (7) years of experience serving in a UC engineer role and working with a global organization with Cisco and Microsoft products Two (5) years’ experience in managing and optimizing UC infrastructure. Supervisory / Responsibility: This is a supervisory position. Work Environment: This is an office position. Position Type: This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek will require extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs.
