What you’ll do:
* Lead and manage bids and tender submissions for the Transport business, reporting to the Business Development Director.
* Manage and lead a Bid Team based in Warwick and London, planning resources for bidding opportunities.
* Ensure effective and efficient resource utilization across the business to maximize opportunities.
* Oversee end-to-end management and production of high-quality, successful bids following Telent’s bid procedures.
* Continuously improve bid quality and adopt best practices in bid development.
* Monitor bid costs and seek improvements in bid investment return.
* Develop relationships with existing and potential customers through meetings and presentations.
* Be accountable for Bid team performance, KPIs, and SLAs.
* Lead bid strategies, from Go/No-Go decisions through to bid submission and post-submission support.
* Plan workload, forecast bids, track costs, and report on win/loss outcomes.
* Conduct bid reviews, providing recommendations for improvement.
* Maintain and update the Bid wiki (Bid library).
Who you are: Key requirements
* Extensive experience managing high-performing Bid Teams, driving efficiencies and success rates.
* Proven success in leading and winning bids in Public Sector markets such as Traffic, Rail, Defence, and Emergency Services.
* Strong project management and organizational skills.
* Financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial reports and models.
* Broad understanding of Traffic, Rail, Telecommunications, and IT products, services, and technologies.
* APMP or equivalent qualification with demonstrated bid wins.
* Excellent proposal writing skills, including 'Red Review' answers and financial responses.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills.
* Leadership qualities with experience in building high-performing bid teams.
* Ability to develop and deliver simple solutions to complex challenges.
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, persuasion, and influencing skills.
* Experience in developing commercial propositions based on customer business problems.
* Ownership, accountability, and a positive, resilient attitude.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships.
