Our Credit Investment team is looking for someone who has experience in a credit analysis role, ideally with a focus on Infrastructure, structured finance, and private corporate debt, to join their tenacious team. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in analyzing credit risk and presenting recommendations to approvers in both written and verbal formats. Additionally, experience in portfolio monitoring and reporting/asset management is required.

A bit about the job:
This position, within the Chief Investment Office, Credit Investments Team, will focus on portfolio credit risk, the assessment of individual transactions, and overall governance. There will be a particular focus on Infrastructure Finance, Structured Finance & Private Corporate Debt across the UK, Western Europe & USA. Your key areas of responsibility include: helping shape UK Life’s investment risk appetite for new asset classes and geographies, producing detailed credit reports on asset types, sectors, and geographic regions, including forward-looking insight and analysis derived from observed trends, providing initial feedback to deal originators on UK Life’s appetite for specific transactions, and conducting credit risk reviews of new and existing transactions while challenging credit and rating assessments provided by Fund Managers.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* A good understanding of credit risk and performing the associated analysis, ideally including knowledge of private assets in at least one of Infrastructure, Structured Finance, and Private Corporate Debt.
* A relevant finance-related degree or post-graduate qualification (e.g., CFA), or relevant experience for the role. An understanding of general financing, accounting principles, and techniques.
* Be a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively across teams and apply conceptual thinking to identify and resolve issues.
* Strong communication skills with experience summarizing complex information and concepts for senior stakeholders and the ability to build and manage relationships.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt against competing timescales. Ideally, knowledge of regulatory capital requirements and external rating agency methodologies, including their application to sectors and specific transactions.

* Starting salary between £75,000 and £80,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
