What You Will Do:
1. Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on data center trends, technologies, and strategies. Key areas of focus can include:
* Colocation and Datacenters: Explore trends and strategies in colocation services and data center management.
* Hybrid Cloud and Multicloud Strategies: Provide insights into hybrid and multicloud environments, including cloud lock-in, portability, and cloud operating models.
* Cloud Hyperscalers and Specialty Providers: Analyze the offerings and strategies of major cloud hyperscalers and specialty cloud providers.
* Data Center Transformation and Consolidation: Offer strategies for transforming and consolidating data center operations to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
* Edge Computing and Future Data Infrastructure: Examine the role of edge computing in modern data infrastructure and its integration with cloud services.
* Resilience and Disaster Recovery: Develop strategies for cloud resilience, disaster recovery, and backup solutions, including hyperconverged and integrated systems.
1. Industry Insight: Offer expert guidance on cloud strategies and the future of data centers, advising executives in large and small enterprises, investors, and service providers.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop in-depth research and analysis that addresses the needs of IT leaders and decision-makers.
3. Client Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to clients across various sectors, including government and technology providers.
4. Publishing: Author and contribute to research papers, articles, and publications, enhancing Gartner's visibility as a thought leader in data center management and IT infrastructure trends.
5. Presentations and Conferences: Serve as a keynote speaker at industry events, webinars, and client meetings, engaging with key stakeholders and leading projects such as conference chair for Gartner I&O events.
What You Will Need:
* Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* 10 years of experience, with significant expertise in data center industry standards, design, operations, trends and strategies, cloud strategies, and IT infrastructure.
* Strong blend of technical and business skills, with a track record of advising executives and leading strategic projects.
* Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience as a keynote speaker.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
* Track record of thought leadership through publications, presentations, and contributions to the data center and IT infrastructure community.
Certifications:
* Relevant certifications, such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Certified Data Center Management Professional (CDCMP), or others that validate expertise in data center technologies and practices are an asset.
