Accounts Assistant Location: Welwyn Garden City Job Type: Flexible hours based on 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with an hour for lunch Salary: £32k - £40k DOE My exciting new client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their innovative team. They are known for their creative designs, high-quality manufacturing, and global distribution. They are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and flexible individual to enhance their Finance team. Day-to-day of the role: Accounts Payable: Manage the Chinese Supplier Accounts Payable function. Process invoices linked to POs for all inventory, tooling, samples, testing, and freight. Prepare weekly suggested Chinese Supplier payment runs, set up subsequent payments, process and allocate. Maintain a file of committed supplier costs and payment due dates for cash flow purposes. Responsibility for maintaining and applying all costs relating to purchases of stock for resale, including samples, testing, inspections, and freight. Reconcile supplier statements monthly. Financial: Assist in the preparation of weekly Cashflow reports. Monthly tasks include preparing Balance Sheet Reconciliations for review, updating and reconciling loan schedules and accounts, reconciling all bank accounts, maintaining and reconciling the Fixed Asset Register, assisting in the preparation and maintenance of Accruals and Prepayment Schedule, and processing general ledger journals. Perform any other tasks deemed necessary within the boundaries of the finance department, including assisting with covering holidays and absences in the team. Required Skills & Qualifications: At least two years of relevant accounting experience. AAT or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA, or QBE. Good knowledge of Financial Accounting and Processes. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel; experience with Dynamics preferred but not essential. Mathematical mindset with good attention to detail.
