The role
As a Head of Service Operations, you’ll lead a team of IT professionals, producing bespoke software applications and integrated Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products for a customer base of 10,000 users within an organisation focused on Defence and Civil Nuclear projects.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide specialist knowledge management and technical expertise on a range of products, technologies, and collaborative solutions that support both internal and external stakeholders.
* Shaping and guiding the service function within Digital Solutions, including Infrastructure, Service Desk, Change, and Problem Management.
* Leadership and professional development of a team of circa 30.
* Accountability for service outputs, including KPI and SLA adherence.
* Managing budgets across several contracts ensuring cost effective delivery.
* Integral member of the Senior Leadership team, representing all aspects of service delivery.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Babcock Technology Centre.
Essential experience of the Head of Service Operations
* Extensive experience in IT service management in organisations where IT is critical to success.
* Excellent leadership skills with experience of getting the best from people.
* Proven experience of working in secure environments with MOD experience - Desirable.
* Proven experience in running a service operation, scoping and designing service elements of IT solutions.
* Experience of running a service function to ISO27001, ISO20000, and ITIL standards.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
