We are looking for a Night/Weekend Driver/Receptionist for 30 hours per week to join our team of staff working in the Urgent Treatment Centres in Bexley.
The role is based at Queen Mary's hospital Urgent Treatment Centre in Sidcup and the UTC is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year including weekends and bank holidays. You would be expected to work a rota consisting of night shifts 2300-0700 and weekend / bank holiday 0800-2000 and 2000-0800.
Main duties of the job
The main duties will be to contact the designated Doctor to make them aware a visit is pending, and then to drive them to the home visit in a timely manner and assist where necessary, ensuring all relevant data is captured and entered correctly. You will also be expected to help out on Reception when there are no visits waiting.
The successful applicant must have good interpersonal skills, enjoy working as part of a team and possess a willingness to learn. Previous NHS experience would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Job responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate records and take and receive messages from 111, Operational Managers and any messages from external Stakeholder that require immediate input from the OOH GPs.
2. Follow instructions given by the Operational/Management Team, policies and procedures as documented throughout each shift.
3. Maintain both the interior and exterior cleanliness of the vehicle.
4. Report any personal or vehicle accident that may occur.
5. Undertake Mandatory Training annually where required and any other appropriate training that is role specific.
6. Maintain the highest standard of conduct and courtesy at all times to other colleagues, patients, doctors and other road users. Undertake Customer Care training every three years.
7. Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to the entire medical and business and staff affairs of Hurley group, including Information Governance annual updates and ensure that all statutory requirements in connection with data protection is adhered to.
8. Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required to the job role.
9. Ensure patient confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
10. Assisting the Mobile/Standby doctor in tasks he/she believes to be appropriate to your capability.
11. Ensuring that the mobile/standby doctor has all the information and a fully stocked Doctors bag to fulfil his/her role.
12. Ensure all procedures around the checking and safe keeping of drugs are adhered to. This should always be done with a clinician (nurse or doctor).
13. Ensure that the protocol around booking in and out and usage of controlled drugs are adhered to.
