Our client, a leading manufacturing client based north of York, are looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis. This recruitment drive is due to order books continually expanding and needing additional staff to manage the workload. The successful candidates will be provide engineering design and support functions in relation to Mechanical product applications under the instruction of more senior engineers. Hours Mon - Thurs (Apply online only) / Friday 08:30 - 1600 The Ideal candidate will be minimum Degree Qualified within a Mechanical Engineering discipline with a demonstrable background in Mechanical design works. Role Description •Manage design projects from initial concept/enquiry through detailed design to manufacturing handover. • Provide design input on projects, using the technical competencies listed below. • Generation of ideas for developments and new products. • Be responsible for small projects, or sub-sections or larger projects. • Produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ISO 9001. • Assist in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals. • Offsite engineering support for new products. • Assist sales and marketing in the preparation of quotes and proposals. • Provide customer support. • Assist in the training of customer operating personnel. • Provide technical support to the production, logistics and integration departments. • Work within the requirements of company procedures and national/international regulations. Technical Competencies • Assembly methods and maintenance. • Completing and checking designs and documentation. • Tolerancing, limits and fits. • Drawing layout and symbols. • Drawing and document control systems. • Oil and gas hydraulics including sealing systems, e.g. O-rings, seals, hydraulic fittings, etc. • Inspection, testing and certification requirements. Qualifications/ Skills Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering related discipline. Demonstrable experience working within a Mechanical Design role. Experienced in use of Autocad/Solidworks and Ansys/Solidworks Simulations Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques including welding, heat treatment, painting, machining, cutting, folding and NDT requirements.
