Scotmas Group are seeking a Production Floor Leader.
To play a crucial hands-on role in the production areas, and provide supervision within the production area to ensure chemical, biological, and tablet-based products are manufactured and dispatched effectively and on time.
This must be done in accordance with all applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards, ensuring that procedures are followed by all production staff.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day activity of the chemical & production areas, ensuring that a safe and healthy working environment is maintained at all times and that all team members are complying with our Health & Safety standards.
* Ensure all production machinery is cleaned in accordance with the safe systems of work.
* Motivation and training of the operators within the production area.
* Ensure adequate stock control is maintained, liaising with the purchasing department as required to ensure adequate materials are available at all times.
* Plan and schedule stock and production runs in consultation with the COO.
* Ensure materials are packaged and despatched timeously and in accordance with Health & Safety requirements.
* Liaise with Customer Services team regarding customer requests & queries.
* Liaise with the Goods Dispatcher to make sure documentation and other export paperwork that may be required is available to export orders.
* Make sure all end products are produced to our quality standard.
* Assessing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the production areas.
* Organise staff and monitor performance within the production areas.
* Record any absences, carry out disciplinary investigations when required.
* Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to make sure all equipment is in good working order and work together to make the production process more efficient.
* Maintain health and safety standards for yourself and others within the production environment.

* Experience of leading a small team in a manufacturing environment
* Good problem solving experience
* Chemical COSHH understanding and Health & Safety awareness in a manufacturing environment
* Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills
* Self-motivated with strong ethical and working principles
* NVQ / SVQ qualifications within a manufacturing discipline or relevant experience
* Forklift truck licence and experience
* Computer Literate
