Job Description Job responsibilities The Paediatric medical staffing model is 1 in 6 on call rota. Over 6 weeks, each Senior House officer covers 7 on call long day shifts (2 of which being at a weekend) and 7 night on call shifts (2 of which are at a weekend). Assessment and treatment of acutely unwell children in CAU Assist in the resuscitation and stabilisation of critically children Diagnosis, treatment and continuing care of new-born infants in the SCBU and Drayton Postnatal Ward. Undertake treatments and procedures in infants or children attending Treatment Room. Perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant, in consultation where practical, with his colleagues both senior and junior. Communicate and work collaboratively with all members of the Paediatric team. Communicate effectively and sensitively with parents and children about all aspects of their clinical care. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Maintain legible and accurate documentation in the clinical records.
