We are looking for tech passionate individuals to start their career in the IT industry. You will be joining a significant business area working for our largest UK public sector client, collaborating with inspiring experts from whom you can learn and enjoy the career opportunities this brings. You will be part of a large community of Graduates and Apprentices across the business.
This role is only available to be based in our office in Telford, West Midlands. As such, you will need to be within a commutable distance to the Telford office, where you should expect to typically be in our Telford office 3 days a week. This specific role is not available to be based in any other UK office, but other opportunities on our website have more flexibility on locations.
As a member of the finance team, you will need excellent numerical skills, strong analytical skills, and an ability to communicate well, both written and verbally, with finance and non-finance colleagues. You will rotate throughout the 5 defined areas within the Finance team to gain insight into all aspects of how finance drives business, delivers business value via financial support, and ensures the smooth financial running of the account.
You will focus on learning:
1. Studying at L7 CIMA accountancy enabling you to be a fully qualified accountant.
2. What the role of a finance business partner is, how to engage with key stakeholders, and how to challenge them to deliver change and value.
3. How to prepare monthly management accounts; set rolling forecasts and budgets; and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
4. How to produce, interpret, and present detailed monthly reporting.
5. How to understand business risk factors, with a view to identifying potential risks and issues which affect business performance.
6. How to prepare and support external Audits and ISO (International Organisation of Standardisation) Audits.
