Birkenhead Community Mental Health Team are looking for a Clinical Support Worker to join our busy team. Based in Wirral, we cover a wide geographical area supporting people to live as independently as possible in their communities. Working alongside members of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide holistic, person-centred care for people with severe and enduring mental illnesses. We work with adults aged 18 and over and support those with both functional and organic illnesses.

Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a range of therapeutic interventions and other aspects of the service user's care plan under the guidance of the multi-disciplinary team, inclusive of occupational therapists, psychiatric nurses, therapists, psychologists, and consultant psychiatrists.
This is a varied role and applicants will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, person-centred approaches to care, and utmost respect and compassion for the people we serve. You will work as part of a large team of multi-skilled, experienced colleagues who will support you in delivering safe and effective care. Opportunities for training and development are encouraged and offered within the team.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience
Knowledge & Expertise
* Basic risk and mental health assessment
* Basic clinical skills: Venepuncture, ECG Recording, Clinical Observations
* Delivery of brief interventions for healthy lifestyle promotion: Smoking cessation, Alcohol reduction, Healthy eating, Activity and exercise
Experience
* Experience of mental health difficulties - either lived experience or as a lay or professional carer
* Experience of working within a community care setting
* Experience of working with small groups
