Job Description:
Applications are currently sought for a FULL-TIME, Permanent, experienced Vascular Sonographer / Clinical Vascular Scientist to join the team at ‘Southern Ultrasound Ltd’, providing Vascular Ultrasound Services to Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust (Part-time hours may be considered).
The successful applicant shall be working primarily within Frimley Park Hospital, with some sessions in various locations in the Frimley Health and associated catchment areas. Ideally, you should possess full SVT accreditation; applicants with a post-graduate qualification in Vascular Ultrasound and substantial UK vascular lab experience will be considered.
Our Full-time staff work 35 hours per week and are paid with a salary in excess of NHS Band 8. In addition, our Staff Benefits Package includes payment towards: CSVS(SVT)/BMUS membership, study days, travel costs, parking costs, Professional Indemnity Insurance. In exchange, you will be expected to provide a full range of vascular ultrasound examinations, both as part of a team and independently. Scans are performed on a range of in-patients and out-patients, and you will work closely with staff in Vascular Surgery, Clinical Imaging, and other clinical Directorates. Some additional weekend work may be possible in the future.
We require an enthusiastic and experienced Vascular Scientist / Sonographer to fulfil the needs of the current service and to help to establish the service at new locations. Due to the variable nature of the work, the successful applicant must be able to rapidly settle into new working environments and communicate effectively with peers, patients, and clinicians. An ability to work with both new and older imaging equipment is an obvious advantage. The successful applicant will ideally have their own vehicle and be willing to travel as required to cover local centres according to a prearranged rota.
Salary (Full-time): £68,941.60 p.a. (£37.88 p.h.)
Hours: 35 Hours per Week (09:00-17:00 Mon - Fri).
Key Duties:
To undertake examinations in line with the patient referrals adhering to departmental guidelines.
To carry out and interpret all non-invasive vascular investigations; currently, but not limited to:
* Aortic & visceral arterial
* To independently interpret, report and discuss all findings following routine and complex vascular investigations.
* To clinically justify vascular investigation requests.
* To work using own initiative, but be aware of own limitations and seek guidance when necessary.
* To plan and prioritize own patient workload at independent clinics.
* To assist in the training of junior clinical staff.
