Role Overview
The successful candidate will be a key member of our team of twelve based in our Belfast office. You will ultimately be responsible for the delivery of accountancy, tax and assurance services to a range of clients across the firm.
This role is ideally suited to a qualified Accounting Technician or qualified Bookkeeper but applications will be considered from those who are qualified by experience.
You will report to a Client Manager.
UHY Hacker Young Fitch is based in Belfast with a presence in Kilkeel. We provide a range of services to both businesses and individuals. We have a number of different specialists who will be able to provide support to you when providing advice to our clients whether the client is looking for general accountancy and tax advice, expertise on growing their business or peace of mind that their finances are taken care of.
Working Arrangements
Our office hours are 37.5 hours Monday to Friday normally worked within core hours of 8am to 6pm but we provide flexibility. Our dress code is ‘dress for the day’. Your working hours will need to be agreed with your line manager and are subject to the needs of the business and our client expectations.
Person Specification
* A self-motivated individual who wants to progress within UHY.
* Ideally, the successful applicant would have 2+ years’ experience in general practice.
* An ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing in English.
* Key roles and responsibilities include:
o Maintaining clients’ bookkeeping using accounting software, mainly Xero. This would include inputting invoices and bank transactions and completion of bank reconciliations.
o Assistance with the preparation of annual accounts for companies, sole traders and partnerships.
o Preparation of VAT returns for clients using accounting software to comply with MTD requirements.
o Assistance with the preparation of personal and corporate tax computations and tax returns.
o Assistance with audit fieldwork on an occasional basis.
* It would be desirable for this individual to have:
o Payroll experience including knowledge of auto-enrolment requirements.
o Experience using a range of accounting software, preferably Xero.
