A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Neuropsychology Training Course team that delivers, in partnership between North Bristol NHS Trust and the University of Bristol, nationally recognised training in Clinical Neuropsychology.
The postholder will provide clinical-academic services at a high level of expertise in relation to the delivery of the programs, to include the delivery of tutorials and the provision of appropriate assessments.
The post-holder will also be a member of the Department of Neuropsychology of North Bristol NHS Trust at Southmead Hospital. The wider department offers Clinical Neuropsychology services along the entire pathway of care from acute neurosciences through to the community.
The postholder will be afforded honorary status with the University of Bristol.
Main duties of the job
* To organise and manage the delivery of the tutorial streams for the programs in Applied Neuropsychology, delegating where appropriate, and ensuring they meet their intended learning goals and are managed within agreed resource and financial constraints.
* To contribute, where appropriate, to the delivery of teaching on the programs ensuring intended learning goals are met within agreed resource and financial constraints.
* To coordinate and contribute to the assessment and marking associated with the programs.
* To be the unit lead for the evidence-based practice and / or case presentation units.
* In conjunction with the course team contribute to ensuring the quality of the delivered programs, through engagement with the syllabus, engagement with the wider clinical community, through curriculum review and reflecting upon feedback.
* To meet regularly with the wider course team in relevant meetings and informally to ensure appropriate communication of relevant information.
* Where appropriate to bring up issues, opportunities and problems associated with the courses and contribute to finding and delivering effective solutions to those problems.
* To supervise students undertaking clinical projects as part of their MSc in Applied Neuropsychology.
* To provide expert teaching on a clinical topic(s) for the programs.
* To participate fully in supporting the partnership activities including attending and contributing to relevant meetings and engaging as appropriate with University based quality control tasks and protocols.
* The post holder will support the Directors in the delivery of the programs and partnership and liaise where appropriate.
* The post holder will adopt a flexible approach to managing his or her workload.
* The post holder is jointly responsible for the security of psychological test materials and the IT and audio equipment used in the delivery of the programs.
* The post holder will be very IT literate and comfortable delivering learning in a face to face and online format and be highly familiar with Zoom and Blackboard, including Blackboard Collaborate.
* The post holder will support the University’s process and procedures for supporting the academic progression and well-being of enrolled students.
Person specification
Education/ Training / Qualifications
* Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology to Masters or Doctoral level as recognised by the HCPC.
* Completion of, or enrolment on, the Clinical Neuropsychology knowledge competencies required for entry on to the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
* Commitment to Post Qualification Training in Clinical Neuropsychology.
