The role
As a Project Assistant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join the Major Infrastructure Projects Business Unit and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Devonport site. We're driving the development and execution of a Strategic Infrastructure Plan that extends through to 2050, delivering major capital works projects with precision and safety.
Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with the project team, driving the delivery of schedules, managing technical scopes, overseeing contractual and financial processes, and addressing risk management functions.
* Provide support to the Package Manager in delivery of project data.
* Assist the technical and project team in requirements gathering, project scope and work to implement solutions for specific work packages.
* Interpret supply chain reporting into usable data to inform planning, monitoring, and control of work packages.
* Assist with the inputs to cost and budget monitoring.
* Assist with the stakeholder management and communications plans.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Project Assistant
* Proven experience working within a project environment or a similar setting.
* Familiarity with project delivery in regulatory environments.
* Knowledge of configuration management systems or comparable tools - Desirable.
* Experience with contract management software - Desirable.
Qualifications for the Project Assistant
* Committed to pursuing, actively working towards, or having already achieved a project management qualification (or equivalent).
* Achieved A Level or higher qualification in a relevant and transferrable discipline.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
