Position: Materials Handling Supervisor Who are EOW Solutions Ltd Founded in 2016, we are a family-run business that source, process and supply cementitious, lightweight aggregates and raw materials to the construction, cement and energy sectors. Purpose of the role: - This is a new and vital role in our business. Reporting to the Managing Director the role involves taking responsibility for the management of the Ash Processing. Ensure all resources are optimized, this includes the management and coordination of all site and plant activities and contractors to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and performance are achieved. You will succeed in this role if: - You relish a challenge and have experience operating and maintaining plant machinery within the construction, agricultural, or quarrying industries or similar. Supervisory experience where you have demonstrated strong teamwork abilities such as driving performance standards, showing good communication techniques, taking accountability, and having confidence in delegating and problem-solving. The Priorities of the role: - Operating and Plant Efficiently operate loading shovel to feed screener and load lorries as required. Ensuring all machinery is well-maintained through regular greasing, oiling, and daily health checks. Take a proactive approach to small engineering upkeep and maintenance works. Keep detailed records of breakdowns and non-processing times for operational transparency. Efficiently order fuels and sundries from agreed suppliers using provided contacts and preferred supplier sheet. Collection and storage of samples of screened and as-dug materials for lab delivery (Belfast) /posting, ensuring accuracy and precision. Offer support for special projects during the winter period when processing is not viable. People Management and Communications Adhere to agreed working hours for processing materials and collaborate closely with management. Setting exceptional standards of performance and managing sub-contractors to those standards whilst accurately recording start and finish times including breaks. Provide regular updates to the director through daily emails or calls and participate in weekly catch-up meetings for effective planning. Act as the primary point of contact for EP Kilroot and hauliers to facilitate smooth operations and relations. Health and Safety Act as the Health and safety coordinator. Conduct weekly review and sign-off of Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure safety and compliance. Strictly adhere to PPE requirements for a safe working environment. Location This is a multi-site role and approximately 80% of your time will be in Carrickfergus and approximately 20% at Derry/Londonderry. Hours of work This role is a full-time position with variable hours across the 12 months of the year. You will be required to adapt to the peaks and troughs of a specified working pattern that will be planned to accommodate demand variations during the four seasons. Our essential criteria Operating & Maintaining Plant - Full UK Drivers License and Wheeled Shovel Operators License. At least 2 years experience in construction, quarry, agriculture, recycling, or similar industry. People Management and Communications - Hands-on approach and supervisory of small engineering works. Proven Teamwork & organizational and delegation skills. Keen to learn and grow with the business. Positive attitude.
