We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work one-on-one with a child who has Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding, and skilled in fostering a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere that promotes emotional well-being and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individualised support and guidance to the child in both academic and social settings.
* Implement strategies and interventions to help manage emotions and behaviours effectively.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to deliver a supportive learning plan.
* Monitor and document the child's progress, adjusting strategies as necessary.
The successful candidate will:
* Hold an A-C grade in Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent).
* Have patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
* Have a positive attitude and approach to working with children, especially those with additional needs.
* Demonstrate an understanding or have experience with children with SEMH, trauma or attachment difficulties.
* Be able to work as part of a wider team including with other Learning Support Assistants, Teachers and the SEND team.
* Be flexible and use their initiative.
5 x mornings, Monday to Friday 8.45 until 12.15, 3.5 hours per day / 17.5 hours per week.
