Job Description
Gloucestershire County Council are recruiting for a Permanent Social Worker to join their Children's Services.
+ £4,000 welcome payment and an annual retention payment of £2,000.
Hours: Full Time (36 hours)
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role
1. To work closely with children, young people and their families, other staff within the service function and partner agencies to provide support and protection for children and young people in need and at risk.
2. To promote a range of services which carry out statutory duties as required by legislation and guidance.
3. To assess the needs of children, young people and families to plan and implement suitable multi-agency interventions and service provisions to meet need and review outcomes.
Responsibilities and duties:
4. Build positive relationships with children and their families through direct work to ensure that their voices, wishes and feelings are heard.
5. Provide a clear, accurate and holistic assessment of a child and their family needs in line with statutory and local guidance and in collaboration with the child, their family and other agencies. · Carry a case load of children and families in line with the experience of the social worker and the organisational needs of the service function, including children in need in child protection plans and children in care.
6. Carry a caseload which will progress in number and complexity and which meets the needs of the service.
7. Develop SMART plans with children and their families to balance risk factors and needs to achieve outcome focused interventions.
8. To undertake direct work with children, young people and families in order to manage risk and achieve the sustained and positive outcomes identified in assessments and plans.
9. Prepare high quality reports for relevant meetings and to present them to a variety of other professionals
Experience :
10. Significant experience of working with children, young people and families.
11. Experience of working in a social care setting.
12. Experience of child protection and statutory child care.
13. Experience of assessment and management of risk to children within practice
Relocation Allowance (up to £8,000) for successful candidates relocating from overseas or the outer southeast area
As well as your experience as a front line social worker, there are some things we require of you to be successfully appointed to this post:
14. Social Work England registration
15. Experience at Senior Social worker level
16. A recognised qualification in Social Work
17. To have passed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
18. A full driving licence and willingness to drive
19. Enhanced DBS clearance
