Redcar and Cleveland have been selected to be part of the national Family Hub Programme, jointly funded through the Department for Education and Department for Health and Social Care.
The principles of the Family Hub development are that we will be more accessible to families, better connected, and more relationship-centred, building on family and community strengths. We will be transforming our Family Hubs which are currently aimed at 0–5 year olds, to a service for 0-19 year olds (25 years for young people with SEND) and building co-located teams offering face-to-face, virtual, and digital services.
The Community Engagement and Participation Lead will be responsible for our Parent and Carer Panel and ensure that Parents and Carers' voices are heard and are central throughout the service co-design, delivery, and evaluation.
The role will also require developing strong relationships with the Voluntary and Community Sector and our partners, such as schools.
In this post, you will directly contribute to and support the implementation of the Family Hubs Engagement and Participation Strategy, which will include the recruitment and supervision of Volunteers working within the Family Hubs.
You will be required to work flexibly across a number of centres, including working some evenings and weekends (on an agreed pattern), to allow us to extend our hours of opening to support working families.
The authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/young people and vulnerable adults.
This post is on a fixed-term basis until the end of March 2026 initially.
For an informal discussion regarding this post, please contact Ruth Little (Ruth.Little@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk) on 07377453365.
