As an Outdoor Activities Instructor, you will lead in the daily delivery of all activities and educational programmes at Cobnor Activities Centre, ensuring that all activity sessions are delivered safely and to a high and professional standard, reflecting the Trust’s mission and purpose.
Start date: March to May 2025
Fixed-term contract until October 2025
Salary range: £20,800 – £25,396.80 per annum based on qualifications and experience.
40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.
Main Responsibilities
* Deliver safe and effective activities in accordance with the Trust’s aims and objectives, always seeking to exceed client expectations.
* Provide briefings to clients, explaining and demonstrating activity content as appropriate.
* Keep activity records as appropriate.
* Ensure the welfare and safety of clients throughout courses.
* Be responsible for personal health and safety and conversant with current legislation relevant to the safe running of activities/programmes.
* Undertake regular checking and maintenance of equipment as necessary and in compliance with relevant guidelines/regulations.
* On occasions be part of the Duty Team, required to be first point of contact for external groups including evenings, over nights and weekends.
* Lead activity sessions as deployed by the Lead Instructors.
* Ensure and follow-up on, the reporting and recording of hazards, accidents and near accidents working within the Centre’s policies and procedures.
* Contribute positively to the aims and objectives of Cobnor Activities Centre Trust.
* Carry out any other duties as requested by the senior management team.
Key Qualifications
Outdoor Activity Instructor applicants will ideally hold a range of NGB qualifications, to include at least 1 of the following (ideally one watersports) qualifications, this may include:

The successful candidate will have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Additional qualifications and experience in climbing, high ropes, low ropes, cycling, orienteering, bushcraft and team challenges are beneficial to the role. Full site-specific training will be provided.
