Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Dundee, Office based
Job Type: Full time, permanent
We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager role based in Dundee, working with a well-established civil engineering contractor specialising in infrastructure and groundworks projects across Central Scotland, including Dundee, Tayside, Fife, and Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Oversee subcontractors to ensure adherence to safe working practices.
* Conduct quality audits and investigate non-conformance reports (NCRs).
* Carry out internal audits and represent the company during external ISO audits.
* Coordinate occupational health and safety surveys.
* Identify and implement corrective actions from health and safety inspections, audits, and assessments.
* Report non-compliance and risk issues to senior management and support the resolution process.
* Collaborate with site managers to address health and safety challenges on-site.
* Conduct thorough accident investigations where necessary.
* Represent health and safety requirements in internal and external meetings.
* Monitor and report on the company’s health and safety practices and systems.
* Represent the company with clients and external agencies.
* Take a proactive approach to working with client counterparts to ensure projects are delivered to specification and safely.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications are essential.
* Experience as a Health & Safety Manager is essential.
* Experience working on civil engineering or groundwork projects is highly desirable.
* Proven ability to guide and support others to fulfil their roles effectively.
* Hands-on approach to promoting a strong safety culture both within the company and externally.
* Ability to meet company deadlines and deliver results.
* A full UK driving licence is required.
