About this opportunity:
The successful postholder will generate, validate, and investigate data related to the waste and recycling activity of both Cumberland Council and Westmorland & Furness Councils.
There will be a need to work to tight reporting timescales and be the lead on the identification and development of trends and performance of the waste and recycling materials generated and associated activities.
Working on your own initiative and as part of a small, dedicated team, you will be involved in navigating changes in legislation and the evolution of waste services within a contract environment. Therefore, participation in planning and analysing the impact of changes will be a key part of the role.
Who we’re looking for:
In this role, diligence is key. Ideally suited to an aspiring Management Accountant who has a taste for numbers and is proficient in Power BI and MS Excel. This role requires a cool head and someone who can follow processes from start to finish. There is a need to build strategic internal and external relationships and collaborate as part of sub-groups.
Ideally, candidates should have accounting experience and qualifications equivalent to AAT level 4, along with demonstrable experience in producing and interrogating management accounts.
This is a hybrid role where some time will need to be spent working at the Parkhouse Building in Carlisle and occasionally attending in-person meetings in Cumberland or Westmorland & Furness Council areas.
