Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge. We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. It also offers emergency heart attack treatment, sleep centre care and is one of just five centres nationally for those in severe respiratory failure.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current registration with NMC, part one or two of the register
* Diploma, BSc or MSc in Nursing
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Degree in Nursing
* Teaching and assessor qualification
Experience
* Adhering to the NMC Code of Conduct and professional practice guidance
* Good theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing within the clinical area
* Knowledge of health and safety, clinical governance and quality assurance
* Awareness and need to demonstrate a professional appearance and behaviour
* Aware of cultural and social influences on health and of the importance of respecting diversity and differences
* Ability to problem solve, use own initiative, plan, organise and prioritise workload
* Proven communication skills, written and oral.
* Able to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, patients and their relatives.
* Have good IT skills and be motivated to learn and use specialist applications and technologies.
* Evidence of experience in the specialty
* Awareness of broader issues within the Trust and the wider NHS
* Understanding of the professional nursing agenda
* Able to induct/orientate new staff to the clinical area and identify key learning needs of less experienced staff
