Detailed job description and main responsibilities The main duties of the role are: Greeting patients who arrive in Eye Casualty. Booking patients onto the data base, including the registering of patients with the hospital and entering information ready for the triage team. Dealing with patients queries. Tracking patients on the system when they are required to visit other areas of the hospital for tests and back into Eye Casualty, preventing unnecessary delays in their treatment and discharge. Booking follow up appointments in the department and referring patients to a community provider for follow up. Greeting and booking in patients attending for Rapid Access and Laser Clinics. Outcoming clinics when the patients visit is complete. Setting up the reception area at the start of the day and clearing at the end of the day. General administration tasks when numbers permit. Assisting the Nurse in Charge, Eye Casualty Manager, Deputy Service Manager and Service Manager with general administration tasks and with maintaining the flow of patients through the department.
