Job Summary We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team. This role will primarily focus on providing legal advice regarding the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and cryptocurrency regulations within the EU, with a particular emphasis on UK legislation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services law and regulatory compliance related to digital assets. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance: Advise the company on compliance with MiCA and other relevant cryptocurrency regulations across the EU, including preparation for the establishment of our entity in the UK. Legal Guidance: Provide comprehensive legal support in areas such as licensing, governance, and risk management related to crypto assets and digital finance. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and policies to ensure they comply with applicable laws and regulations. Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of developments in UK and EU legislation regarding cryptocurrencies, conducting thorough legal research and risk assessments. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including compliance, finance, and operations, to implement regulatory requirements and ensure ongoing adherence. Policy Development: Help develop internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance with evolving regulations and facilitate best practices in legal governance. Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to staff on legal and regulatory issues pertaining to crypto assets and financial technology. Qualifications: Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK, with a strong understanding of financial services and cryptocurrency law. 5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within a financial services, fintech, or blockchain environment. In-depth knowledge of MiCA, UK financial regulations, and broader EU crypto regulations. Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex legal concepts into actionable advice. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive approach to legal challenges.
