We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Rayleigh. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to support students with special educational needs, helping them to thrive in an inclusive and nurturing environment. You will work closely with teachers to assist in implementing individual education plans, providing both one-to-one and small group support, ensuring students have the best chance to succeed academically and personally.
While experience in a similar role is preferable, it is not essential. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and keen to make a positive impact in the SEND sector. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
* Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
* Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Support students in managing their academic, social, and emotional development.
* Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
* Help manage classroom behaviour, promoting a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
* Assist students with daily tasks and routines, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferable but not essential.
* A passion for supporting students with SEND in a secondary school environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping students succeed.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from teachers and senior staff.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are desirable.
