Teach in a dynamic, inclusive engineering training environment and deliver foundation principles of materials and advanced manufacturing engineering within the Royal Air Force's ground engineering profession.
Job Summary
This 37-hour per week position involves developing training programs for RAF personnel to become competent workshop technicians. The role requires delivering theoretical and practical instruction in advanced materials manufacturing and metalwork techniques.
Responsibilities
* Deliver training and lessons
* Produce lesson plans and supporting course materials
* Participate in internal and external evaluation audits
* Maintain student conduct, punctuality, discipline, and dress standards
* Integrate Literacy and Numeracy into lessons
* Ensure safety briefings and evacuation procedures are followed
* Contribute to Continuous Improvement of the School
* Prepare training areas and resources before instructional periods
* Complete mandatory course documentation within 5 working days
* Undertake 5 hours of Continuous Professional Development per annum
* Ensure compliance with personal responsibilities to students with Specific Learning Difficulties
* Undertake additional lessons for trainees as Additional Trade Training or Extra Trade Training
* Act as a Role Model and maintain high standards of behaviour
* Monitor student welfare and manage concerns through the chain of command
* Remain current in Instructional Techniques and arrange for observations
* Ensure concessions or specialist requirements are carried out when acting as an examination invigilator
Person Specification
The ideal candidate should be a great communicator with the ability to describe complicated ideas to different audiences. They must be well organised, proficient in time management, and have good public speaking skills.
* Essential: Recognised experience and background in a Workshops engineering environment
* Desirable: Experience in a military engineering environment is desirable
* Desirable: Familiarity with workshops engineering management practices and trade policy
* Desirable: Experience in delivery of training
