Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Catering Manager to lead and have overall operational responsibility for the timely delivery of a high quality, affordable &professional Catering service within the Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT).
You will participate in national networks, supporting, developing and leading implementation of new initiatives. Continuously looking for opportunities to develop services, introducing new technology and ensuring MPFT has modern fit for purpose services, developing plans for continuous service improvement in line with the visions and values of the Trust.
You will operationally manage the Catering service and provide vital contribution in supporting theoverarching departmental objectives, including sustaining an effective financial will ensure that all operational performance targets are met and that they are appropriatelydemonstrated within performance management develop close working relationships with Senior Management Team, Heads of Services, Infection Prevention and Control and other service leads across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Lead by example and display a leadership style that encourages and motivates staff to provide an excellent catering service Trust wide.
The effective planning of food and hydration services operational systems to ensure the workforce is flexible and efficient to meet the Trusts requirements staff rosters, work schedules, work instructions and procedure
Responsible for all Allergen Food labelling relevant to patient meals and retail products
Chair the Trust wide Catering Quality Steering Group and follow up on relevant actions
Responsible for ensuring food provided by the in-house catering team meets National FoodStandards regulations and principles.
To manage HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) reporting system for wardkitchens regarding the promotion of safe and hygienic premises and practices for thedelivery of food to patients.

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential
14. Professional support services and business management knowledge to degree equivalent plus further management experience or training to post graduate diploma level or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Essential
15. Significant relevant experience of working in a catering environment to include substantial experience gained in Service Management.
16. Significant experience in managing and monitoring service contracts.
17. Significant experience in managing budgets.
18. Demonstrable experience in complex report writing for senior management use.
19. Demonstrable experience in effective application and use of complex computerised software packages.
20. Demonstrate experience in Healthcare Soft FM management.
Desirable
21. Experience allied to working on sites with people who suffer Mental Health related problems.
22. Knowledge and experience of the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) in the NHS.
23. Previous NHS experience.
