Job Overview
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic Applications team at Birmingham City Council. As an Application Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for the upkeep and support of various software applications and systems. You'll work closely with our technical teams and end-users to guarantee the smooth running of our products and offer effective solutions to customer issues promptly.
The ideal candidate should be an attentive, user-centric, and self-driven individual capable of providing functional and technical support and guidance to end-users and internal teams. They should also be able to collaborate and work systematically with other stakeholders to ensure optimal implementation, performance, and support of a variety of solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What you will do
* Provide functional and technical support for applications, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, support, and maintenance.
* Collaborate with technical, product and delivery teams to support the efficient implementation of new solutions.
* Identify and analyse application issues and provide solutions to customer issues and improve reliability.
* Communicate with customers to provide updates on issues and resolutions.
* Manage user access and application-level permissions.
* Provide excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Utilise strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
* Work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently.
