Project Surveyor - Southern region
Agile working with travel within the operational area to be agreed – generally covering London and the South-East.
Salary: £49,738 inclusive of a Car Allowance of £5,800
Reporting to the Senior Projects Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering construction projects and managing supply chain relationships. You’ll also oversee specifications, tendering, and project delivery through supplier relationships in the operational areas mentioned above.
Examples of projects include:
* Homeownership (Leasehold) works.
* Complex projects.
* One-off works requiring specifications.
The project will be part of the delivery of core investment programmes, with key interdependencies with peers to ensure the delivery of the Property directorate’s overall objectives in line with the business plan.
You will operate and lead in an environment of significant change.
The key purposes of the role are:
* Accountability for the delivery of projects to either start on-site stage or completion on-site.
* Implementing projects in coordination with the property delivery team.
* Delivering a number of key projects requiring a basic understanding of Section 20 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders including contractors, portfolio strategy team, sustainability team, and housing/care operations.
* Ensuring compliance with all regulatory/statutory and internal governance/policy requirements and making recommendations for improvements.
* Building a resilient service and organisation.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A track record of delivering property projects, including homeownership (S20) programmes.
* A demonstrable record of engaging with high-value, complex partnering contracts, delivering high levels of customer satisfaction on time and within budget.
* Experience leading teams through change, ensuring effective and efficient working practices that meet local needs.
* Experience working with colleagues and customers in reviewing service offers and specifications that deliver improved services and effectively communicating with both staff and residents.
* Strong leadership skills as an effective people manager, with the ability to motivate individuals and teams to achieve and exceed performance requirements.
You must also be:
* Agile in approach to site location within this region.
* Preferably educated to degree level or have substantial relevant experience.
* Preferably holding a professional qualification or working towards one appropriate to the role (e.g., MCIOB, MRICS).
