The role
We are seeking four experienced and dynamic Commissioning Managers to join our team. In these pivotal roles, you will play a crucial part in contributing to the operational delivery of Service objectives at each stage of the commissioning cycle. This will include ensuring effective commissioned services, robust contract and performance management, quality services for residents, effective partnerships, and market management.
The Living Well portfolio includes leading on the development of strategies for people with learning disabilities, autism, and unpaid carers. In addition to developing commissioning strategies and commissioning of services for younger adults with care needs that support them to live as independently as possible and create opportunities for them to access work where appropriate. Services that sit within this portfolio include Supported Living services and community activities for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions, housing support, and specialist residential and nursing care, services for people who are homeless, refugees and asylum seekers, and accommodation services for people aged 18 to 25.
The Ageing Well portfolio includes the development of commissioning strategies for people in the later stages of their lives. There is a focus on enabling people to remain living as independent as they can in their own homes, with short-term interventions to support people in times of crisis to regain skills and confidence, as well as longer-term support where necessary to live at home such as equipment, home care, and technology-enabled services. For those no longer able to remain in their usual home, access to more intensive services are commissioned within supported accommodation schemes sometimes referred to as Extra Care or retirement villages, and for those who require 24-hour care, services are commissioned on a block and spot basis in care homes across the County.

What will you be doing?
As a Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for commissioning high-quality, best value services that meet the needs of some of our most vulnerable residents. This will include managing the delivery of a range of commissioning strategies and plans in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will work closely with the senior leadership team across the Service, corporate colleagues, and key stakeholders, including people who use our services and their Carers, to deliver agreed commissioning outcomes.
About You
As a Commissioning Manager you will be:
• Experienced in managing and leading social care, public health, or early intervention and prevention commissioning strategies
• Experienced in implementing all stages of the commissioning cycle, with reference to needs analysis, planning, designing, implementing, and reviewing service change.
