Painter & Decorator required for a property services arm of a large Tier 1 contractor. Your new company A leading UK construction and regeneration group, operating in the public and commercial sectors, through six divisions of construction and infrastructure, fit out, property services, partnership housing, urban regeneration and investments. Your new role • Possess excellent technical skills in all areas of painting and decorating • Ensure excellent quality of applications in order to meet the high standards expected • Practice effective preparation techniques to ensure lasting and high standard finishes • Produce “perfect” finishes to all applications i.e. gloss work, emulsion and papering • Understand drawings, specifications and technical literature • Have a good eye for detail • Visualise the finished project • Ability to work efficiently however with due care and attention respecting the environment you are working in at all times • Understand programmes and planning and be able to meet targets and deadlines • Working as part of a team • Submission of required data electronically or manually as necessary for the project • Manage van stocks and materials effectively and keep accurate records • Deliver exceptional customer service, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability • Completing the task given right first time, by ensuring access, materials, timescales are both achievable and deliverable. • Utilising your hand-held unit as trained. • Raising awareness, communicate any improvements you see creating efficiencies. • Be honest and helpful to the needs of others. • Undertake works in line with MSPS H&S process and procedures. • Ensure all PPE is provided and present prior to engaging on task. • Ensure you have materials and equipment provided before you undertake task. • Ensure that the task is deliverable within the time allocation • Ensure all works do not present a hazard or danger to others • Ensure all H&S documentation (RAMS) are present prior to engaging on task What you'll need to succeed • Must have a full UK driving license • Be at least 21 years of age • Ability to work in all weathers • Workers must be punctual and reliable • Previous experience as a qualified painter and decorator is preferred • Ability to use hand tools • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions • City and Guilds in Painting and Decorating 7907 Level 2 and 3 • City and Guilds in Painting and Decorating 6707 Level 1, 2 and 3 • NVQ Level 2 Painting and Decorating • CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card • PASMA • IPAF What you'll get in return In return, you will gain a 16 weeks contract with a well established Tier 1 contractor with the possibility of an extension.
