This will require considerable technical knowledge over a wide range of engineering plant, equipment, and installations. You will be required to carry out maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment, which includes Linkspans, HGV’s, RORO Tugs, Cranes, Hydraulic systems, vehicles, and small floating craft You will be required to carry out this work to a very high standard, working on one’s own initiative and with minimal supervision. Mechanical Technician - Skills and Qualifications Apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline to minimum NVQ level 3 standard and associated C&G’s or equivalent 3 years post trade-qualification experience in relevant discipline Hydraulic, heavy machinery, plant and or vehicle experience Experience of reviewing and creating RAMS Experience of Mechanical assessments and fault diagnosis Technical specialist knowledge in a wide range of plant and equipment Good standard of IT literacy Full driving licence Experience of welding/fabrication would be advantageous
