As a Head Of Technology Practices, you will be responsible for the leadership of the Engineering Practice across several cross-functional agile teams and provide technical expertise, guidance, and support on complex problems while ensuring adherence to best practices in mobile app design, development, and testing for TUI Mobile Apps for iOS and Android (e.g. TUI Digital Assistant). You will set the technical direction and continuously evaluate the development and operational processes to drive improvements and standardize mobile engineering procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
Your key responsibility is to lead a team of technical leaders, ensuring that they are growing within their area of expertise, acquiring new skills, and fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
You will be responsible for the identification and recruitment of new talent into your team, coaching and mentoring existing and new team members, performance management, and active career development. You will focus on increasing the autonomy of your teams, enabling effective decision-making, and fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
You and your teams will be responsible for setting best practices surrounding the full software development lifecycle and operations, as well as collaborating with other teams and stakeholders such as business executives to remove impediments and achieve business outcomes. You will focus on continuously improving ways of working within and between teams and enhancing cross-team collaboration and engagement across IT and Business communities. You will manage relationships with key partners and suppliers to ensure that third-party deliveries are completed in line with business needs and domain technology standards.
You will maintain a strong understanding of the bigger picture, think ahead, and understand the overall business strategy, using these insights to shape people, delivery, and technology strategy for your area. You will actively champion the SRE approach to building and releasing features while constantly optimizing the delivery of business value at pace. You will ensure that deliverables adhere to the architectural design and quality standards set by the project. You will have budget and cost responsibility for your teams in terms of delivery and operating costs, including budget planning, cost management, and cost tracking.
You will have a strong background in leading cross-functional, diverse technology teams (onshore and near/offshore) in an international context, working with senior technology and business stakeholders, and managing large-scale, cloud-based technology stacks. You will advocate and advance modern software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices across the domain.
