Permanent contract | part-time 18.5 hours per week | £12,792 to £13,635 per annum (Grade E) | Norwich
Norfolk's Adoption and Kinship Support Team are seeking to recruit a part-time Contact Coordinator. As the Contact Coordinator, you will be an integral element of our Contact Service, working closely and in collaboration with birth relatives and adoptive families alike. You will focus on supporting and overseeing Contact Agreements between birth family and adopters, monitoring, facilitating and reviewing letterbox exchanges and in some cases coordinating face-to-face contacts.
You will often be the first point of contact for the Team, thus managing letterbox enquiries by phone, email, letter and in person will be a key element of the role, as will record keeping and data management. You will need to manage highly sensitive information and ensure maximum confidentiality between relevant parties; sometimes this will involve managing disagreements and conflict.
You will have the benefit of working within a stable and supportive team who are committed to improving outcomes for adopted children and their families. Furthermore, you will take an active role in contributing to the development of Norfolk's Adoption Contact Service, working closely with the wider Adoption Service and other Teams within Children's Services, offering consultation, advice and training around contact-related matters.
You must have exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of developmental trauma and relevant theories, such as attachment theory, is desirable.
Due to the nature of the work, this role is office-based at County Hall. You will be required to make visits on your own and to follow NCC's lone working principles.
For an informal discussion regarding this vacancy, please contact Becky Howard, Team Manager, on 01603 638351.
Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria we are looking for.
